The City of Westby is accepting applications to fill the full-time position of City Clerk/Treasurer. The position is under the general supervision of the Mayor and City Council and provides administrative support to the Director of Public Works. Duties include but are not limited to: assist the DPW in administration of personnel policies and procedures relative to personnel functions, conduct all elections, maintain all official city records and bank accounts, issue all licenses required by ordinance or statute, employee payroll, preparation of tax roll and tax notices required by the State of Wisconsin, collection of  taxes, and assemble the annual budget for the City of Westby. The position requires a minimum of a technical college degree in accounting, finance, office management or related field. Experience in a municipal environment is preferred. Must possess an ability to communicate effectively both orally, and in writing. Must be able to operate most office equipment and software such as fax, copy machine, computer (Excel, Microsoft Word, Outlook) and telephone. Position also requires the ability to attend two evening council meetings each month to record meeting minutes and other special meetings, conferences and training sessions.
